House of Pretenders / House of Trouble are the 83rd and 84th episodes of Season 2 of House of Anubis and the 143rd and 144th overall. They aired on March 7, 2012.

Plot
The memory doctor that 'healed' Trudy (he gave her false memories) takes off his mask and revealed himself to be Rufus Zeno in disguise.
Jerome and Mara are playing the Chubby Bunny challenge, which is when you stick as many marshmallow as you can in your mouth and then try not to chew or swallow them while saying the words: "Chubby Bunnies love honey". However Mick calls Mara via video chat, and Jerome leaves while Mara and Mick talk, but Mara obviously doesn't want to talk to Mick because she unenthusiastically says hello.
Joy tells Sibuna about Rufus being the real memory doctor. Vera follows Rufus' instructions and attempts to hypnotize the kids but they were already aware of her plan and were therefore not affected, but they pretended to be hypnotized and played along with Victor leading them in senet. Joy is worried that they have truly been hypnotized and followed them down into the library tunnels. Victor tells Alfie to walk onto a square, but its a danger square and Alfie falls through the floor. Victor is extremely angry that they hurt a student and blames Vera because it was her idea to hypnotize them.
Jerome gets captured by Rufus when he walks into the kitchen and finds Rufus sneaking around in there. Victor and Vera presume the students were never hypnotized in the first place and only pretending to be. Victor Sr. tries to explain the true power of the Mask of Anubis to Nina but is interrupted by Senkhara who doesn't want him to tell Nina what the mask can truly do because then she won't cooperate. The Sibunas plan to try to win the game after Joy recorded footage of the Anubis pieces' strategy while Sibuna was pretending to be hypnotized and is confident about how to play the game.
In the end of the episode Senkhara tries to find Nina's Osirion which leads her to Fabian and Eddie's room, where she requests for Eddie to take her hand and he slowly begins to reach for it not knowing that he will bear the Mark of Anubis and be cursed if he does...

Trivia
- Joy was able to recognize Rufus right away after he took off his mask because she had seen him when he drank from the Cup of Ankh in the cellar in Season 1.
- Alfie and Fabian knew that Victor was telling him to walk onto a danger square (unknown to him), but they could not object because they were supposed to stay "hypnotized" from the memory box, and could blow their cover.
- It is revealed in this episode that the Osirian must be male, assuming that was why Senkhara was in the boys' rooms.
